Season 2023/2024 - The 16th/17th of December, the 6th/7th of January, the 3rd/4th of February

The main purpose of this stage is to give the most important notions in order to be able to practice ski mountaineering safely

During the stage we will work about the individual off-piste skiing technique, the climbing techniques by skins and the snow science. A great importance will be given to matters relating to security and self-rescue, the most important basis to practice ski mountaineering with conscience and safety.

1stDay

How to use our safety equipment - Artva research and climbing techniques by skins

Meeting whit our Mountain Guide early in the morning in Alagna. Equipment check and distribution of the missing materials we work on preventing avalanches, A.R.V.A. research. In the noon we work on all the climbing techniques by skins. Back to the hotel around 4 p.m. Dinner and overnight.


2ndDay

Climb an easy itinerary and snow science

Ascent of a ski mountaineering route chosen depending on the medium level reached by the participants. During the day we review all the arguments of yesterday giving a special care to the safety of the drop lines. In the afternoon we work on a snowpack stratigraphy to get to know the snow element. Come back to Alagna around 4 p.m.

PRICE INCLUDES : Support, assistance and teaching of a U.I.A.G.M. Mountain Guide, all the technical equipment in common use, logistics.

PRICE DOESN’T INCLUDE: Ski pass, half board in the hotel. Guide’s half board will be shared by participants. Injury insurance. Lyskamm4000 can rent the missing technical material (harness, crampons, ice axe, snow beep shovel and probe. € 10,00 per day/person)
