Ski touring in Georgia, another unusual and fascinating destination, in the heart of Central Caucasus between Asia and Europe. In this area, thanks to the humid currents coming from the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, the snowfalls are punctually very abundant.
A trip to the areas between Gudauri and Gergeti, among the most interesting in Georgia. The choice is vast, and each day will have a different route depending on the best snow and safety conditions. In the last day we will visit the beautiful Tbilisi, Georgian capital.
Private groups (min 6 pax) can choose different dates depending on their needs
Travel Program
Flight Milan - Tiblisi
Arrival to Tbilisi airport. Transfer 165 km (2 hours) to Gudauri ski. Accommodation and dinner in hotel (1990 m). -/-/D
Climb to Sazdele Peak m3250
Ski-tour to Sadzele peak (3250 m), possible ski-lift using, descent crossing (Jvary) pass (2380 m) or Kobi village, Bidara or Trusso gorge. Option down 1100 to 1300m. In the afternoon transfer (15km) to Gergeti village (1850 m) with beautiful view to ancient volcano Kazhbek 5045m. The region is almost unknown for skiers, but it has a great ski-tour potential! Accommodation in guest-house (Gergeti). B/L/D
Up and down 1300 m - 6 hours
Climb to Artkmo Peak m 3143
Short transfer (8 km) to Sioni village. The “Sioni” appellation is largely used for villages and small cities in Georgia. Here, we meet an ancient church of 9th century and some buildings dated of the XVII-XVIII. Ski tour to massif of Artkhmo peak 3143 m, along the North ridge. Transfer and overnight in guest-house (Gergeti). B/L/D
Up and down 1100m - 5 hours
Climb to Juta summit 3330 m
Transfer direction Djuta, old village at 2180m at the confluence with the Sno valley, then 4km by ski to the village Djuta, accomodation at the hostel Soso. Ski-tour to the summit Juta 3330m. Descent to the hostel Soso. B/L/D
Up 1350 m - Down 1100 m - 6/7 hours
Climb to Chauhi South m 3565
Today we start directly from the Guest Hous shis on. We climb the summit Chauhi South 3565 m, along the Chauhi Valley. Descent on the same way to the hostel Soso. B/L/D
Up and down 1380 m - 6 hours
Climb to Gudamakari Peak m 3150
Ski-descent 4 km to the confluence with the Sno Valley and ski-tour to the valley of Gudamakari up to the homonym peak high 3150m. Descent and transfer from the hotel Gergeti. B/L/D
Up and down 1100 m - 5 hours
Climb to Arsha or Ortsveri 3200 m - 3650 m
Ski-tour to the massif of Mt.Kazbek 5033 m, to Sabertse pass and then to Arsha or Ortsveri peak with ski descent possible to Pansheti village, depending on the snow conditions. Transfer to the hotel Gudauri. B/L/D
Up and down between 1200/1650 m - 5/7 hours
Transfer to Tiblisi
Transfer to Tbilisi, via Ananuri Fortress, Mtskheta - old capital of Georgia, Zedazeni – one of the most ancient monastery. Hotel accommodation. During the day we' ll visit the city spending free time for shopping. Farewell dinner at nice Georgian restaurant. B/-/D
International flight
Transfer to the airport and come back home.

The program may be modified by the Mountain Guide according to the technical level of the participants or for weather reasons.

THE PRICE INCLUDES: Full support of a UIAGM certified Italian Mountain Guide, all the transfers in program with private vehicles + driver, full board for the whole period (except inTiblisi HB) with accommodation in Hotels in Tbilisi and Guest Houses in Gergeti and Djuta, picnic meals for ski mountaineering excursions, support for the whole period by a local guide english speaking, local necessary formalities, the missing technical equipment if needed (artva, ice axe, crampons).
THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: the flight to Tbilisi A / R, the injury insurance, the alcoholic drinks and the extras.
