ALONG THE REGULAR ROUTE
From the end of June to the end of September
Dent du Geant, high just 4013 meters, is one of the most famous peak of the Alps probably thanks to its elegant, aesthetic and slender shape.
This spire, located between Italy and France, offers a fun classical climbing in a great environment with breathtaking views of Aiguille de Rochefort and Grands Jorasses. The climb along the regular route is facilitated by many fixed ropes. In any case this climb must never be underestimated.
Travel Program
Transfer to Torino Hut m 3375
Meeting with the Mountain Guide around 1:00 pm and transfer to Courmayeur. After the check of the equipment we’ll take the lift up to P.ta Helbronner and very easily we’ll go to Torino Hut m 3375. Dinner and overnight.
Climb to the top
From the Hut we’ ll start to walk along the easy Geant Glacier. The first part, until the place called “Gengiva”, is quite easy with classic difficulties. From “Gengiva” we’ ll start the main climbing. The first pitch is equipped with some fixed ropes; the second one is free and it is necessary to climb until the beginning of the “Burgener slabs” (the croux of the route). 5 to 6 pitches are necessary to reach our dream. From the top, the descent is on the south side with a sequence of rappels. From the Gengiva we’ll back on the same itinerary to P.ta Helbronner

TECHNICAL INFO: Even if this itinerary is facilitated by fixed ropes, it must never be underestimated. The climb is exposed up to grade IV° and sometimes we can find some ice in the cracks or in the ledges because of its west exposition. The part leading to Gengiva is much more easy along snowy slopes up to 40° and a couple of rocky steps up to II°.
The accompaniment of two participants will be decided by the Guide in according to their experience, and technical skills.

THE PRICE INCLUDES: Support and assistance of a U.I.A.G.M. Mountain Guide, all the technical equipment in common use, rental of technical equipment if you need (harness, crampons, ice axe, helmet), logistics and reservation to the Hut.
THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: Transfer to Courmayeur, round trip cable car (Courmayeur - P. Helbronner ), half board at the hut. Guide’s lift ticket and half board will be shared by participants, injury insurance.
