The stage aims to teach to attend the mountain safely, learning to evaluate all kind of difficulties and dangers that it can hide.
During these 4 days you' ll learn the most important notions related to rope team progression, self-rescue on the glacier and the progression’s techniques in order to be able to manage and lead a rope team safely.
Private groups (min 4 persons) can choose different date in according whit their needs.
Travel Program
Basic nodes and rock climbing technique
Meeting with the guide at 8.30 in the village of Mollia. Transfer to the climb cliff of Parete Bianca. Today we learn the material characteristics, the tying nods, junction and self – locking nods, the use of nuts, friends and nails and how to do an anchor rest. In the second part of the day we work on the individual rock climbing techniques. Overnight in B&B.
Risk management and rope team techniques
Meeting with the guide at the lift of Alagna at 7.30. From Punta Indren (m3270) short walk until Indren glacier. Today we learn the rope team glacier travel techniques, how to do a rappel, the risk management in high mountain environment. Dinner and overnight at Mantova Hut.
Climb to Punta Giordani and safety school
Leaving early from the Hut to climb the top of P. Giordani m 4045. During the climb we make a little deviation to Rossa ridge where we work on the rope team mixed travel techniques. In the afternoon we learn to set up anchors on ice and snow and the main crevasse rescue maneuvers. Come back to Mantova Hut. Dinner and overnight. In the evening we talk about topography and orientation and how to prepare a climbing day.
Pratics of a rope team, climbing over 4000 meters.
Leaving time at dawn and depending on the level reached by participants we choose the ascent of one of the peak of Monte Rosa (Swarzhorn m 4320; P.ta Parrot m 4440, ecc). In the afternoon come back to Alagna.

NOTE: The stage structured in two weekends foresees the development of the program with the difference that at the end of the second day we come back to Alagna Valsesia. The lessons will resume the following Saturday.
CLIMBING INFO: The scheduled ascents present classic difficulties, up to II ° on rock and mixed, 50 ° on snow and ice. Absolutely ideal for practicing the management of a team.
The program may be modified by the Mountain Guide according to the technical level of the participants or for weather reasons.

Rate details
THE PRICE INCLUDES: Support, assistance and teaching of a Mountain Guide U.I.A.G.M. certified, technical equipment in common use, logistics, rental of technical equipment if needed (harness, crampons, ice axe, helmet).
THE PRICE DOESN’T INCLUDE: lift ticket Alagna-P.Indren A/R, costs of board and lodging at the Hut, injury insurance. Guide expenses will be shared by participants.
