ALONG THE NORTH RIDGE
From mid June to mid September
The elegant northern side of Weissmiess offers a rewarding climb along its north ridge. This beautiful ridge represents a great classic of the area around Saas-Fee.
Thanks to the lifts of Saas Grund it is possible to make the ascent in one day, taking the first cable car in the morning. From the summit you can have a beautiful view of Mischabel and Andolla mountains range.
Travel Program
Transfer to Saas Grund and climb to the summit
Tansfer to Saas Grund by car early in the morning . From the village we’ ll take the cable car until Hohsaas station (3098m). From here, we’ ll walk on the east side until the Lagginjoch 3499 mt where the north ridge begins. Climbing always on the wire and turning the most overhanging steps, we’ll reach the last snowy ridge that leads us to the summit. The way back will be along the regular route until Hohsaas station and from there by cable car to Saas Grund.

CLIMBING INFO : The climb of the north ridge of Weissmies presents technical rock difficulties up to grade IV °. Several ledges cross the ridge so it seems much more difficult but, following them, we can overcome the most difficult steps. The last part goes up on snow along the ridge that leads to the summit. On the way back through the regular route, depending on the season, we can cross several big crevasses.

THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: Transfer to Saas Grund, round trip by cable car. Guide’s cable car ticket will be shared by participants, injury insurance
