A ski mountaineering expedition to climb the great volcanic mountains of central Anatolia. Crossing the Taurus Mountains from south to east we ski on the highest peaks of the area's : Mount Embler 3723 m and Mount Erciyes 3916 m, whose summit dominates the whole Cappadocia.
Shipping over to let us know the Turkish mountains, it will allow us to get in touch with local traditions and customs and the great hospitality and generosity of the turkish people. During the last two days we’ll discover the spectacular and surrealistic Cappadocia lands, coming back to Ankara just in time for the last kebab and a nice relaxing bath in the Hamman before departure.

Flight Milan - Ankara and transfer to the city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel (B&B)
Leaving with private bus (about 4 hours driving) to Central Anatolia, at the feet of Hasan Mountain, an ancient volcano now inactive, high more than 3200 meters. Its last eruption, occurred 3 million years ago, giving shape to the bizarre rock formations of Cappadocia. In the afternoon short trek (3 hours) through Ihlara Valley, famous for its churches dug into the tuff. B/L/D
After breakfast short transfer by jeep to Sokullupmar plateaux (mt 2050). Ski up to Celikbuyuduran pass (mt 3450) and then on the top of Mount Embler (mt 3723). A very particular spot through limestone canyon and characteristics rock formations. Dinner and overnight to Demirkazik. B/L/D
Ascent and descent: 1680 m - 7/8 hours
From Demirkazik, short transfer by jeep to Siyirmalik valley (around 2150 m). From there through pine forests and rock conformations called: “rock fingers” we’ll reach the Arciveli Pass (mt 3250). From the pass through a simple ridge we’ll reach the summit of Yoncalitas (m 3450). Dinner and overnight at the Guest House. B/L/D
Ascent and descent: 1300 m - 5/6 hours
Jeep transfer through Emily Valley until the beginning of Kukuc Mangircy Valley (about m 1950). Skies on we’ll rise through wide valleys and limestone spiers to the summit of Kortekli Mountain (mt 3300). In the afternoon transfer to Musthapapasha in the heart of Cappadocia. On the way will be possible to visit the incredible underground city of Derinkuyu. Dinner and overnight in Hotel. B/L/D
Ascent and descent: 1470 m - 6/7 hours
Leaving from Kayseri to the summit of Erciyes Mountain (mt 3916) the highest peak of the region. All climb is very steep but from the top it seems to dominate the entire region. Amazing descent and transfer to the Hotel in Cappadocia. Possibility to go up by chairlift up to 2600 m, in order to make the climb shorter. B/L/D
Ascent and descent without the chairlift: 1716 m - 6/7 hours
Turistic day: we’ll visit the unbelievable areas of Goreme, Zelve and Ortahisar, where we can admire churches and monasteries dug in the rocks, wide areas spread by the famous Cappadocia’s Chimneys, amazing canyon with strange rock formations. In the evening transfer to Ankara. Overnight in the hotel. B/L/-
Transfer to the airport. Come back at home.

CLIMATE AND SNOW CONDITIONS: In winter the temperatures can go below zero. In Central Anatolia the climate in late February is similar to the climate of our Alps in late March. At the bottom of the valleys quite mild but potentially very cold at high altitude. Usually, in the period of our trip, some sporadic snow falls are possible until low altitude. Generally, snow conditions at this time are still dusty on the northern slopes and settled and bearing on the south slopes.

The climb in program, are not particularly difficult , but the length of some routes require a very good workout

THE PRICE INCLUDES: Support and assistance of a Mountain Guide UIAGM certified, all transfers in Turkey by bus and private jeeps, full board for the entire period with accommodation in 3 *** hotels and Guest House to Chukurbag (shared rooms), meals picnic for ski mountaineering excursions, entrance fees to national parks, support of a local guide and the missing technical equipment if you need (avalanche transceiver, ice axe, crampons)
THE PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE: International flight Milan Kayseri A / R, injury/cancellation insurance, alcoholic beverages and ticket entrance fees in the historical sites.
